Improving the Cuirassiers

Above, left, is a French cuirassier as it comes out of the pack sold by Brickpanda (there is also a pair of red epaulettes included, not shown here). On the right is a version of the same improved by me.

The plastic epaulettes work well and are nice enough when the cuirassier is not wearing his cuirass, but they won't fit underneath the armour. So, to add to the cuirassier's distinctive look, I made my own paper epaulettes which the horseman can wear when in armour. I also added the characteristic black fur turban that cuirassiers wore around their helmet (not stuck to the gilded part of the helmet so as to not damage it), a string to attach the sword and pair of crispins, the thick cuffs found on cavalry gloves. I also swapped the white gloves for darker ones.

Then I gave the guy a horse and a musket for good measure.
